Objectives
CONNECT – Create and strengthen bonds within the Venezuelan community in Australia to foster collaboration and mutual support.
SUPPORT – Provide comprehensive assistance to Venezuelans in Australia by implementing consular and social support programs, establishing networks for newcomers, and providing key documents. Promote freedom of expression and facilitate conversations among community members.
CELEBRATE – Promote and share Venezuelan culture by organizing events and cultural activities that highlight Venezuela’s rich heritage, both within the Venezuelan community and with Australian society.

- Establish collaborative relationships with Australian government institutions, including the Department of Home Affairs and other multicultural agencies.
- Develop partnerships with other multicultural associations and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to create shared initiatives.
- Rebuild connections with the Venezuelan embassy to support community needs, including consular and legal services.
- Develop culturally appropriate mental health and wellbeing resources tailored to the Venezuelan community in Australia.
- Establish volunteering opportunities within VAA to enhance community participation and empowerment.
- Advocate for policies that enhance the integration and well-being of Venezuelans in Australia.
- Implement consular support initiatives, such as assistance with identification documents and legal workshops for migrants.
Organise cultural events to showcase Venezuelan heritage, including:
- Independence Day forums and discussions on political history and resilience.
- Cultural exhibitions and artistic showcases promoting Venezuelan and Latin American artists.
- Food and music festivals, such as ‘El Mes de la Arepa’ (Arepa Month) and Venezuelan Christmas celebrations.
- Develop a platform to support Venezuelan and Latin American artists, entrepreneurs, and creatives.
- Ensure representation of the Venezuelan community in Australian multicultural initiatives and policy discussions.
- Organise informal networking and social gatherings (e.g., walking groups, and coffee meetups) to strengthen community ties.
- Expand regional networks by connecting Venezuelan groups across different Australian states and territories.
- Provide educational resources and workshops that support new arrivals in adapting to life in Australia.
